Behind the scenes: from lump to bowl
Every bowl spends six weeks in our hands. Here is what happens in that time.
A bowl starts as a one-kilo lump of clay. After throwing it dries for a week, followed by trimming, the first firing, glazing and the second firing at 1240 °C.
Sometimes something goes wrong along the way: a crack, a glaze that turns out differently. We sell those pieces as seconds in the shop.
